With permission from the NPD, legacy data with a unique coverage in the Norwegian Sea and in the Barents Sea was carefully reprocessed in a collaboration project between GeoProvider and Geokinetics using state-of-the-art broadband processing techniques starting from raw field data. Through detailed manuel velocity picking combined with careful signal enhancement and noise removal a processing flow was designed leading to a significant uplift of the data. The improved frequency content of the reprocessed data supports regional inversion, AVO and gather analysis.
The initial results were well received by NPD and all final data, 18,350 km is available to the market.
GeoProvider is looking for additional early participants in the project. Early participants will be able to influence line prioritisation, and will receive early access to data and can choose to be mentioned as sponsor of the project.
Multiclient Hydrocarbon and Seal Evaluation Studies
Utilizing new tools and methodology to take a fresh new look at vintage gas data throughtout the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Mud gas data from wells are systematically analysed. A Hydrocarbon Evaluation Log (HEL) and Seal Evaluation Log (SEL) are generated for each well, focusing on hydrocarbon bearing and sealing zones. By utilizing these two logs in combination with sophisticated ratio plots and interpretation techniques, potential pay zones and seals/baffles can be indentified. This results in a better understanding of the petroleum system and different plays. The data can be applied on a regional scale and in prospect evaluation when it comes to charge, reservoir effectiveness, seal and volumetric calculations (GOR, phase and pay thickness).
