The Palaeocene and Cretaceous reservoir intervals of the Møre Basin present an exciting exploration opportunity. With confirmed reservoir units and hydrocarbon presence encountered in the Møre basin, the margin is an exciting region to explore. Cretaceous stratigraphic traps continue to be exploited successfully globally and many of these features can be observed and mapped on the 2D seismic datasets.
In 2020, through a collaborative project with Schlumberger, GeoProvider delivered the Møre Basin Prospect Finder database comprising more than 13000 line km of 2D broadband seismic across the full basin extent. Preliminary interpretation reveals numerous intriguing structural and AVO leads which have been catalogued in a Petrel project for ease of access, providing a valuable resource for efficient prospect screening.
The example shows GeoProvider Broadband reprocessed data on the left hand side compared to the original data on the right hand side together with amplitdude spectra for each dataset demonstrating the uplift in useable frequency content and image resolution.
